GENTLEforce™ LUX 6000B Handpiece from KaVo America

In an article in Dental Economics in December 2002, Dr. Joseph Blaes recommended the KaVo GENTLEforce handpiece.

While there are many handpieces on the market and many may be asking why a new high speed is needed, he says that the KaVo GENTLEforce is different. It has been completely redesigned from the handpiece that was displayed at the IDS meeting in Germany in 2000. While is was impressive at that time, he says it is more impressive now.

The head was made smaller, it has multiple spray ports, and the angle of the head has been changed by three degrees. This gives it better access to restricted areas such as second- and third-molar areas. He finds it helpful also for children and patients with limited opening. It's surprising how these small changes can make it easier to maneuver in the mouth. You don't find yourself running into the opposing teeth, which you won't fully appreciate until you try it.

After using it for about six weeks, Dr. Blaes reports that it has good torque for cutting preps easily and quickly. He likes the balance, and the new material that provides an easy grip that is simple to keep clean. No scrubbing is required--simply wipe it. It also has a micro-filter that keeps small particles in the spray water channel from reaching the spray head. It's quiet, and comes with an 18-month warranty.

You can find more information at www.kavousa.com. KaVo handpieces are available through your dealer.
