Manual of Conscious
Sedation by M Kost
Synopsis This volume aims to assemble contemporary
guidance concerning the preprocedural, procedural, and
postprocedural nursing care of patients undergoing intravenous
conscious sedation. Each chapter opens with regulatory guidelines
for the administration of IV conscious sedation. It should serve as
a source for clinical reference, education, and self-evaluation.
Part 1 addresses preprocedural patient care issues, including
statutory, regulatory and recommended practice requirements. Part 2
delineates procedural care, including administration techniques and
a concise review of pharmacology. The final part encompasses
monitoring requirements and postprocedural care.
